Before you share your details
Privacy Policy
We’re gathering interest while we get West Vertical ready to open. Here’s what happens to the information you share with us, what our website records and how to make a privacy request.
Updated
When you join the early access list
The form sends us your name and email address, the local area you select and the gym location your interest relates to. We also record when the form was submitted, your IP address and browser details. These records help us run the list, understand local interest and deal with technical or security issues.
We use your email to send the opening updates, founding membership information and launch offers you have requested. Your name and email are needed to join; selecting a local area is optional. You can visit the website without joining, and a waitlist signup does not create a customer account or buy a membership.
If you send us an enquiry, we keep the details you provide and our replies so we can help you. The waitlist form does not request medical information, identity documents or payment details. Please leave sensitive information out of general enquiries.
When you browse the website
A visit can generate records even if you leave the form blank. Our website and its providers may record pages viewed, interactions, referral sources, IP addresses, device and browser details, cookie identifiers and approximate location. We use this information to understand website activity, fix problems and assess our advertising.
Google Analytics helps us understand visits. Meta Pixel sends information about page visits and completed waitlist submissions to Meta, which operates Facebook and Instagram. Meta may connect that activity with an account you hold. Both services can use cookies and similar tracking technologies.
You can manage cookies in your browser and use privacy tools to block tracking requests. Some website features may be affected. Google and Meta provide additional privacy and advertising settings; their practices are explained in the Google Privacy Policy and Meta Privacy Policy.
Where your information goes
We hold signup records in our database and email platform, and keep correspondence in our business communications. Authorised people helping run the website, list and enquiries can access the information needed for that work.
We also use providers for:
- Website hosting, maintenance and security.
- Storing signup details, managing email contacts and sending updates.
- Website analytics and advertising measurement.
Those services can involve storage, processing or access outside Australia, including in the United States. Locations vary with the provider and its infrastructure. We take the reasonable steps required by applicable privacy law for overseas disclosures. You can ask us for more detail about where your records are handled.
We may provide information to professional advisers when needed, or to authorities when required or authorised by law. We do not sell the waitlist contact list.
Protecting records and deciding what to keep
We take reasonable steps to safeguard personal information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access or disclosure. These include access controls and our providers’ security measures. There is still risk in using online services; complete security cannot be guaranteed.
Records are kept for the time reasonably needed to operate the list, answer enquiries, meet legal obligations or resolve disputes. Once those reasons no longer apply, we take reasonable steps to delete the information or remove identifying details, allowing for lawful retention requirements and backup cycles.
We also keep email preferences and unsubscribe status. A minimal opt-out record may need to remain so we can avoid sending further marketing messages.
You can change your mind or check your details
- Stop marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in a message, or ask us to remove you from the list.
- Request access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to fix an incorrect record or consider deleting information.
Send requests to hello@westvertical.com.au. Tell us which email address you used and what you would like us to do. We may ask for enough information to verify your identity before releasing or changing records.
We respond within a reasonable time. If a lawful reason prevents us from fulfilling a request, we will explain it and the options for making a complaint. Unsubscribing stops marketing emails; it does not automatically delete every record.
Tell us if something is wrong
If you are concerned about how we handled your information, email hello@westvertical.com.au with the details and the outcome you are seeking. We will look into the issue and aim to give you a response within 30 days. We will let you know if we need longer.
You can take an unresolved concern to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner. The OAIC can explain its complaint process and whether it has jurisdiction over your concern.
The business behind this policy
Elevate Vertical Pty Ltd trading as West Vertical operates this website and early access list. References to “we” and “us” on this page mean that business. Our contact for privacy matters is hello@westvertical.com.au.
ABN: 28 697 004 050 · ACN: 697 004 050
We are committed to meeting the requirements of the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), where they apply.
This version deals with website visits, the waitlist and related enquiries. Before public accounts, memberships, payments or waiver collection become available, we will expand the policy to explain that information handling too.
Revisions will appear at this address with an updated date. Where a change requires a separate notice or consent, we will provide that rather than relying on a website update alone.
